Junaid is a small business owner and a proud immigrant, who has served for years as a progressive fighter for Illinois’ 8th District. With an activist background in youth and social services, Junaid understands the struggles working families face in his district — that’s why Junaid believes in a bold progressive vision that includes Medicare for All, College for All, comprehensive immigration reform and getting money out of politics. In order to bring genuine change to the district, Junaid has partnered with several local progressive activist networks to build grassroots power and has vowed to not accept any special interest or corporate PAC money. Junaid holds an MBA from The University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Junaid and his wife Shirin have four children who attend local public schools.
